My name is Kayla Bruce, and I have been a word nerd my whole life! I earned three degrees in English between the years of 2011 and 2017, and I still love reading and writing and teaching people how to love both! I finished my Ph.D. in English: Writing, Rhetorics, and Literacies from Arizona State University in 2017, and then I had the privilege of teaching as an English professor for five years at my undergraduate alma mater, Olivet Nazarene University, using all the skills I learned while in school and teaching at the collegiate level since 2011 at colleges and universities in Illinois, Arizona, and Wisconsin.

Once I decided to stay home with my two lovely, rambunctious boys, I knew I wasn’t done with reading, writing, and teaching English! I just now have to fit it around nap and preschool schedules. When I’m not hanging out with my family or listening to books on Audible, I love to travel, and I have the goal of visiting all seven continents— just Australia and Antartica to go! I am currently homeschooling my five year old in kindergarten, and I’m so excited to have my first children’s book, Chicago Dreams, available for purchase in the shop!
